The problem is not towards NOLA but I12. Most truck traffic is going east/west. So all the trucks will stay on 10 until they get to 12. Very small percent of travelers are going from NOLA to Lafayette.

Need to incorporate old bridge, turn airline into an Interstate with service roads and hook back up when it hits 12. Mall of LA can become Bucees.

Yes, but there's a ton of plant traffic going from BR and AP to Dow on the West Bank.

And most of it takes LA1 and I-10.

The reality is that the southern loop and bridge proposals are needed....but so is a wider I-10 through Baton Rouge and a wider, more efficient Airline Highway that can feed traffic to the old bridge during traffic tie ups.

how much did this study cost

Not 100% sure but I think I saw a figure in an article that said north of $3 million. That's just this one. Not the 15 before it.

Exactly my point. They could have paid for 1/2 of a bridge with the money they have already wasted on these damn studies over the last 40 years that noone has gotten anything out of.

Not a real great idea to place a bridge in a sharp bend in the river like that. Coast Guard won't like it much at all. It would work better if you go a little further south and cross more in line with LA 30.
