I was at costco and saw some nice whiskey and scotchs while I was there. I wanted to try Woodford Reserve or Makers Mark

Woodford Reserve is really good, Makers 46 is my favorite Maker's Mark.

I think you mean bourbon.

My two current readily available, not terribly expensive favorites are Eagle Rare single barrel and Four Roses (either small batch or single barrel)

I enjoy both, but they aren't what I'd consider premium by any means.

shite, I forgot about that. Well this is where the drinkers hang out anyway.

No price limit at all. But don't recommend something for $2000

Both are good. I prefer Wild Turkey 101 or Rare Breed personally, I also like Evan Williams as well but it's not near as "hip" as the others.

I'm not a huge drinker. I don't know the difference.

Woodford is legit.

If you want to really get hardcore, try Eagle Rare.

Single Malts are a whole other topic.

If you're a beginner, get some Macallen or a Bowmore.

Woodford Reserve Double Oaked, about $55 for a fifth.

Oh, and it's perfectly ok to call it "whiskey".

Funny thing is I'll bet you could place an unmarked shot glass of this stuff in front of most people claiming to love this or that high dollar bourbon and they could not tell the difference.

Some may not consider it premium but I recently was poured some "Devils Cut" and found it really smooth with good flavor. I find Woodfords a little sharp for my tastes.
