So they put the value at $3K+ a pound.
$3600 to be exact.

That puts an ouce at $187.50
You dipshits need to lay off the pipe and do some math. It's 35 lbs for $126,000 which equals $225 per ounce. It's people like you that give heads a bad name.
ETA That shite doesn't look that high-grade to me but for $225 I'd buy one.

The motherfricker wouldnt even been dealing pot since there would be no market for it.
Black market still thrives in legalized states.

This is because the dispensaries aren't recognized federally as a legitimate and lawful business (mj being illegal federal); so, they don't get the same corporate tax rate as other businesses.
Therefore, there is still an incentive to do black market business.

How did you determine it was 35 pounds?

It says it in the first paragraph of the article

MMMMM! Smoking lemon skunk that I grew myself. Going to the grow store today to get a few supplies. All totally safe and legal.
Get a clue, politicians.

First off i'm not a "head" and giving no one a bad name
2nd, if you notice I quoted VetteGuy saying the bud was $3K/pound, and if that is/was/whatever the case, that would make an ouce be worth $187.50..... I never commented on 35 lbs or the $26K

It's not about our safety, but this undoubtedly protects the children of BR. Kudos, coppers.

I'm all for legalization. 100%, but I love all the excuses that come up for anything said that could be construed as negative.... Keep up the good fight
Once say the feds recognize it and they do get fair corporate tax rates as other businesses, and their is still a black market, where will you place the goal post then?
I'll hand up and listen

The prices should and could easily be set to the nominal current black market prices. I mean unlike Gas and milk and eggs, the price of weed doesn't really change.
A quarter of Schwag was $20 in 1998 and it's $20 today.
A quarter of good is $100-120 today as it was then.
There is little fluctuation. If the LEGAL market set itself (with tax) at current black market prices it would kill the black market..
The black market could then go cheaper, but the profitablility is then down and then everyone from street lever to distrubution to farmer would have to lower prices. Then it would just not make sense at all.
Currently medical is like half the price of recreational, and that is why the black market still thrives in legal states.
(there is my goal post)
Also a huge thing people are forgetting... How long has pot been legal? 372 days..
Do YOU really expect an entire black market to die out in that time? One year, six days....
Posted on 1/6/15 at 3:43 pm to SuperSaint
I would guess that when it treated and taxed approximately the same as alcohol, the black market will be similar to the the moonshine/homebrew market. Virtually non-existent. Who wants to go to a dealers house and chitchat etc. when you can grab a pack of smokes from the corner gas station.

If I was a dealer I wouldn't want to have to sit and talk to stoners several times a day. Grab-n-go

Lots of people coming and going without staying more than a few minutes tends to be a red flag for LEO.
Posted on 1/6/15 at 3:48 pm to SuperSaint
A lot of dealers insist that you stay for a bit. They don't want people going in and out of their apartments quickly because the neighbors will catch on.
