I basically can never consume alcohol again

It's really gutting news, mates. I have some blood condition (hemochromatosis) that I inherited from my Nordic ancestors (was a defensive mechanism they evolved into to survive famines in the dark ages, apparently) and it's 5 times harder on my liver to process alcohol than that of a normal person. Basically, every drink that I have is akin to 5 drinks for somebody else in regards to me liver. 
WTF - I've lived my entire live thinking that I am pretty close to perfect and now I find out (out of the blue) that I'm practically some special needs patient who can't even enjoy a fricking beer.

Yeah I already do and will obviously increase by a ton. I do love getting wine drunk while smoking and then capping off the night with a couple of IPA's though. Feck.

It's kind of ironic b/c I've started enjoying alcohol more now than ever. Finally got into beer after living in Milwaukee for 4 years. Love getting drunk slowly at brunch on bloody marias.
At any other time in my life it would have been less of a big deal. Good news is my building is full of some hard core stoners - the guy who lives 2 floors above me can keep me flush with some really nice CO and CA consolation prizes.

Sounds like you can still consume about 1/5 of the alcohol of a normal person.

It's funny how as soon as you can't have something, you become very fond of it. When my doc said my pancreas couldn't handle meth anymore, all I wanted to do was smoke meth.
