Cops in Alaska must not have enough dogs to shoot.

There would be a lot less butthurt comments if this was in the OB where it belonged

I would hope there would still be "butthurt" comments even in the OB.

I agree. He displayed aggressive behavior towards the moose.

Probably could have done something different but the moose came at him twice, looked like it was going for round three. I find it hard to blame the guy.

Where else was he supposed to go? Looked like the moose had the path blocked

Because outdoorsmen love wounding animals and leaving them for dead?

I'd say the sentiments would be the same. Could have been avoided, but kill it clean and salvage it.

wait? and when the moose mock charged him the first time, maybe back up, instead of going forward more, agitating the moose again?

A lot of people don't realize that animals don't WANT to fight in the wild, but they will if they feel they HAVE to. Animals don't prefer to fight because getting injured in the wild can mean certain death later on.

I would have not challenged the moose. If the moose mock charges, just back down. Showing submissive behavior MAY deter the moose. Just do your best to share the forest. If you have no choice, then kill it.

yeah, I can't help but think how would the guy have reacted if it was a bear that mock charged

would he have continued going towards it? I doubt it.

What a fricking a-hole, find a different route or go back. You're snow mobile trip isn't more important than that moose's life.

exactly!. and how do you all know that the guy didnt go back and finish the moose off, gut it and clean it? you assume that he just road off and left it there for dead

Well I assume he went back, call the authorities and cleaned and ate the moose for dinner.

That's a good point. Hell, I wonder if he would have been so brave if it had been a full grown bull moose. 7 ft tall, almost 1,800 pounds. They are the kings of North America.
