If you're planning to stay healthy, why limit yourself to only 6 months?

Buy your own health insurance policy---geez how silly can you be??
I've got my own health insurance. I pay a LOT of money to keep that in place. I'm mostly worried about making it w/o sick days. It's just a new experience for me. I've been on my own for a decade, and before that I was working as a mid-level associate in a fairly small law firm for 5 years.

Do you really need to prepare to stay healthy? What are you, like 60 or something?

I can't remember the last time I was sick enough to call in. I usually get 1 or 2 colds every winter, but nothing serious. I've never gotten a flu shot, I drink, don't always eat healthy, eat steak med rare, easy sushi etc.
Staying healthy for 6 months shouldn't be a problem for anyone without prior health issues. You sound like one of those whiny, sickly guys who calls in for every sniffle.

Is it that hard? I've been working full time for 5 years now and never needed a sick day.

Most are 1 month. But 6 months is not unheard of. Most time the health bennies are 1 month while vacation and sick accrual is 6 months.

I was talking about not missing work for 6 months. Just seems like a very strange worry.

Balanced Diet

Plenty Sleep

Take it easy on the booze

Purell

Take emergen-c ( I swear by it ) a couple times a week for B & C vitamin supply - especially during weather changes or if you have a tendency to get colds

I think the main thing to do I'm order to stay healthy is to keep your hands off your face...wash your hands frequently and don't ever run your eyes, etc.

Why would you have to take special precautions to remain healthy for 6 months?
