The first time I got paid for doing something that wasn't for a family member was umping little league games and I don't remember what they paid us per game. My first real job working in the visitor center of a large adult special needs group home in college I think I got like $7/hr. Minimum wage was $5.15 back then.

Its amazing how many people didn't need $15 an hour to eventually become successful members of society.

$3.35/hour back in 1981.

When I switched jobs and went to work for BREC as a day camp counselor it jumped to $5.50. I thought I was shitting in high cotton then man.

Same here. Think I was 14 and working a concession stand.

I also hauled hay but it paid less than min. wage.

I scored basketball and baseball games for $5 bucks an hour for a sports league when I was 11 which worked out to like $20 until it bumped up to $30 for playoffs because of two additional games. Not a lot of money but to 11 year old me it was a lot.
