I put $5 towards her birthday fund for every time I got laid in the past year.

This year, she got a coffee mug and some Skittles.

Possibly the perfect answer.

Depends on what she asks for. Most I've spent was on a pair of diamond earrings for Christmas one year (besides her engagement ring). She wears them every day, so it was a good investment. For her "wedding gift" I'm going to get her bigger stones for her earrings. That'll be fun.

Wait.....you proposed to her on Christmas and also got her diamond earrings??

Man you really screwed yourself for future holidays by doing that

Instead, we just use that money we would've spent on gifts to fund outings at nice restaurants and hanging out together in the city.

This is exactly what we do. In New Orleans, why wouldn't you?

That sounds amazing.

I'm sure you already know that you still have to get her a card....even if y'all go on a trip for your anniversary.

I think I will get a pass on that one. She is not a card girl. She likes more tangible things. Rings, watch, etc

Thinking about going with the diamond ear rings on this one. Gave her a 25th anniversary ring 5 years ago. Maybe give it to her on the trip..

Or a new set of golf clubs. I have not decided yet

Does she normally bring her nice jewelry when traveling out of the country? I never do so I don't have to worry about it being stolen or being robbed.

Might be something to think about.

Not really. Her watch usually but not rings... I was thinking more about the timing of things.... Would be nice to give her something like that on the trip... Then put them in the safe like we do the other things we bring.

We will see.

I'll give you my real answer now. Anywhere from 100-150. That's for birthday and christmas. V-day I don't spend much at all. Maybe 20 on candy or something. I'll cut my balls off before I buy flowers.

Most of the time I spend $100 to $200 by sometimes I spend a lot more. Wife turns 40 this year so I'll probably spend at least 3k for her birthday.

No set amount. Been married for almost three years, don't want to think of how much has been spent on holidays and birthdays and anniversaries.

have not read the whole thread, but the wife of 13 years and I have a mutual agreement. She may get me a Happy Fathers Day beer glass and I her something like that for mothers day, but her birthday and mine we go to dinner.

Christmas time, we agree that throughout the year I can go on a couple of simple fishing or hunting trips and she goes does what she wants with the girls. She may buy some kind of "instapot" that she wants and I buy and expensive bottle of scotch for the holidays, but we don't buy each other anything expensive.

We have two kids and are not OT ballers, so the money goes to a couple of beach house trips for vacation and presents for the kids at Christmas.
