I don't exist on paper - they can't find me

I sat on a jury for the first time about a month ago. I am 32...
Meth possession, paraphernalia, prescription drugs w/out a prescription, evading police, & DUI.
Dude said it wasn't him because you couldn't see his tag # on the dash cam... We did however see his chick finish pissing in a parking lot on video after he thought he lost the cops... It took everything I had to keep from laughing in the courtroom...

41 years old. Got called for jury duty in Texas when I was in college at LSU in 1992 but never had to go.

Got called in January...because I forgot to do my student exemption.
It was the class action against Aaron Broussard about the Katrina flooding. It would have been interesting to do, but I made it clear in voir dire that I had class in 2 days. They let me go after that.
Whatev, made $30.

I went 2 weeks ago for county court and have another notice to report april 14th for municipal court.

I just ignore the notices and nothing has ever happened.

You just did, by starting this thread.

480 , I would be careful ignoring them notices. I know that routinely you can get away with tossing them. I have called for jury duty 4 times. The last time when we waiting in the court the judge ordered the no shows to be found and brought in. I know that isn't normal, but it definitely happened that day.

I have. The defendants were RJ Reynolds and Phillip Morris.
I was up for 1st alternate and the plaintiff side used their last strike on me.
Jury selection took over 2 weeks. The trial was Monday - Thursday and lasted over a year.
I dodged a serious bullet.

Got summoned when I was 18 and still in h.s. I ignored it. Jefferson Parish sent a sheriffs deputy to my house at 6:30 am to serve me some kind of papers. Moms nearly was having a heart attack thinking something was really wrong. I still didn't go.
Aren't you just a badass.

I always call and tell them I've moved. Works like a charm.

I had it yesterday, didn't get picked, so I'm "on call" for the rest of the week.
It was my first time going, the previous time I was summoned I was at LSU.

I think I'm on the two-year rotation. Had jury duty 10 times...3 trials...I find it interesting once you're on a panel. However, the sitting and waiting beforehand is almost unbearable.

Served on federal jury pool in Knoxville for like half a year. Went through voir dire 3 times.
First time was for the Sarah Palin email hacking case. I was kicked out of the pool probably due to my beliefs regarding freedom on the internet. I would of loved to been on that pool.
Second time was for a railyard injury case involving an improper tool the company had him use to do his work. I was definitely kicked out of the pool due to my work experience.
Last time I actually got picked and it was for a hydrocodone interstate shipping case where some drug dealer convinced his user to take a shipment for him. The user is the only one that went to court, the rest of the drug ring pleaded guilty and pretty much went for deals to turn this guy in, it was funny when him and his girlfriend denied things and then the fed attorney would play recordings of then doing exactly what they denied doing.
I get full pay for jury duty, I wouldn't mind doing it more. It's a change of pace.

56 in August, never even been sent a letter about it, in 27 years of marriage my wife has received the letter twice, both times just after we moved out of state.
My sister received a notice the other day. She hasn't lived in, nor been registered to vote in Louisiana in nearly 20 years.
