Right now a few months. Once summer hits here I would be dead within a few days.

For a long time. Watching most people struggle with basic outdoor survival skills will be where I get my sweet revenge on all of those who made fun of me getting my Eagle Scout.

we've got a few hundred acres, stocked pond, a well, cows, farmhouse, guns, and horses. trap a few hogs, start a herd and i'd be just fine without it.

it's not the lack of electricity i'd be concerned about, but the people trying to take my shite.

When that Cat.1 came through a few years ago I went a sold hour before the power got restored. So I know I can make it that long!

10 minutes. It went out for an hour on Monday. After 10 minutes I drove around the hood to see if they were working on the problem. I found them then went back home and sat in my car with a/c and radio until it came back on. I was thinking about going loot and set fire to the local grocery store

Yeah I'm pretty sure if the shite hits the fan everyone is coming to your house. There aren't enough wild animals or fish to support our population. Our ecosystem would be disrupted right away.

I backpack regularly and can honestly say that I could adapt better than most. I can start a fire without a problem for example, I do it every other weekend.

The biggest challenge would probably be the resulting collapse of industrial production. Sure, I can start that fire but there wouldn't be anything to buy at the store to cook.

Perishables would spoil within 48 hours.

I have abundant land, water, game, and fish. Figure I have enough tin and lumber to build a large smokehouse.

We could survive forever.

ETA: as for ammunition, I have just over a half a million rounds of .22LR

it's not close to any major city, and about 20 miles from the nearest town. all the folks around a 10 mi radius have owned that land for 100+ years, so any riff raff would probably be shot.

if people didn't panic out and lose their sense of morality we'd all be fine.

When that happens there will be total chaos within the first 3 days. No one can call the cops to help. Every man will be for themselves. Gangs will be formed and territory will be occupied no matter who owns the land.
You will need to form a militia to defend you neighborhood from looters. Those who have nothing will have nothing to lose. They will come for everything you got, especially food and booze.
You're gonna have to defend yourself to last past the first week.
