How exactly does one "make groceries"? That seems like an awful lot of work. You should just go to Wal-Mart to buy your groceries.

I couldn't care less if something is locally owned or not.

I also hate going there, but the Walmart in Metairie carries a particular food item I love that I haven't been able to find anywhere else in Metairie. So I go there once a month to stock up.

I usually run in, buy deodorant, paper towels, charcoal.. and am out in less than 10 minutes. Nothing about it bothers me. Filipinos work at the local walmart and provide excellent customer service. I've seen our governor, two US senators and a reality show star (Karl Pilkington) shopping there.

Admittedly, I would probably be more inclined to shop at your Wal Mart.

Here, you battle a gigantic packed parking lot, to go into a crowded store with lots of rather undesirable people shopping and working, navigate through rude people to get your things, and then go wait in one of 3 open lines.

In the alternative, I can go to Target (which I also don't go to very often), park 30 feet from the door, and get in and out in 10ish minutes. Or I could do what I actually do, which is buy everything at Amazon, Publix and Home Depot.

Do you know anyone who enjoys going to Walmart? Most of us know people who say they hate going there. They rank near the bottom of most satisfaction surveys.

I don't shop there.

How long can that company continue to be the largest in the world when so many people dislike the experience of going there?

Until another store beats their prices across the board.

Amazon's worth is overvalued.

Walmart's real estate holdings are massive and no other company gets close.

I can see getting frustrated if you get behind a long line of black people and each one makes 5 transactions for whatever reason they do that.

That's they pimp moneys

I went to one when I was down in La. a few years ago and was blown away at how many people were in the store at one time. Parking lot was unbelievably crowded. But, Target wasn't much different.

All I know is that Walmart has grown Northwest Arkansas exponentially.

We have so many things to do here as opposed to 20 years ago. It's quite amazing the growth we've had.

Not to mention it employs so many people. Our economy is booming.

i got no hate for walmart. i love cheap crap and capitalism.

i only go there for toys at christmas time for the kids and a rare "it'll be cheaper here than the other place(target, kroger, HEB, Publix)"

the clientele never disappoint for what i expect from a walmart though.

Um, by ensuring many DO like their stores?

I mean, that's sort of EVERYONE'S successful business model.

We don't like it because it's full of trashy people - who all love it. That's their core, and there are plenty enough of them.

This.

The frick are people so dumb to spend what time they have on Earth voluntarily spending time in place they hate. My minutes above ground are worth an extra $5 for something.

Has it occurred to you that for some people, the thing they get to spend that $5 on after Walmart has a happiness value to them?

I love the whole "Cheap crap" meme about Walmart.

For chrissakes. 80% of the shite in Walmart is the same shite everywhere else.

It isn't like Walmart's Duracel batteries are different than the Duracel batteries elsewhere.
