If you are tight on cash you can get a nice ring from blue Nile for around $3k-$5k. You want to get your wife something decent that she will cherish forever. You don't want it to look tacky.

3 months salary is what people say a lot, but there's no way I'd spend that. When I bought my wife's I think it was right at 1.5 times monthly salary.

Depends on how much you make really. If you are having to finance an engagement ring, than yes...not a good idea.


Like others have said though....if a chick is telling you it HAS to be a certain size or a certain amount of money spent on it...that's a red flag you might want to notice.

ha im interning right now and 3 months gross is what I would max be willing to spend no matter what my salary was at the time
