45 minutes isn't terrible, I've had longer. However, after a 12 hour shift, a 20 minute drive sounds a lot better!

I drive 50 minutes each way. That has become my limit.

30 minutes to an hour depending on the traffic. If it is all interstate or highway where I could put on tunes and relax then an hour, but if it city stop and go then 30 mins is max.

I drink too much at work to have a long drive home.

I know some people that live in Birmingham that work in Atlanta. They commute daily.

knowing what I know about Sardis and Pontotoc, I would chose Pontotoc all day any day...throw in the extra 25 minutes of commute each way and there is no way I would even consider Sardis...

now, if the difference in rent means that much at your stage in life, you gotta do what you've gotta do...but Pontotoc would be the only decision to me...

ETA: fwiw, mapquest (which I find to be pretty damn accurate) says that the drive time from both of them is pretty equal at about 35 minutes...everything equal, I still take Pontotoc any day over Sardis...

If I'm moving at a reasonable rate the whole time, 45 minutes. Otherwise 20 minutes. I can't handle being stuck in traffic. I would go fricking crazy

I commute from New Albany to Oxford every day. 40 mins max to any part of Oxford from my house. Would prefer Hwy 30 to the hills on Hwy 6 any day. Closer to Memphis and 20 mins from Tupelo.

Live in Oxford. (Home of the 2003 SEC West Co-Champions!!!!)

It's not that much money and your time is worth something.

You'll greatly regret the longer commute or you wouldn't have asked the original question.

Yeah, it's actually near the Main St. part of Sardis behind Tri-Becca Allie. The Pontotoc area is actually renting from a friend of mine in Thaxton...small town...give or take a few minutes either way.

I commuted from west Monroe to elick back in the day. Wish I'd known then what I know now. 45 mins to 1 hr is my limit but I prefer 35 minutes of highway time not counting stop lights and traffic.

That's a long commute even by pilot standards.
