Do not say you don't like it if you value peace. Start adding seasonings which you like and tell her you heard that our tastebuds turn over every seven years and we start to like different tastes or some other bs excuse until she figures out you just don't like it

Tell her you want to help cook it. Learn how to make the roux correctly from someone who knows what they are doing, and YOU add it to her mixture. You can make it as thick and hearty as you want that way. The only other thing to do would be add tabasco and Tonys at the table. Problem solved.

This is the most important thing imo.
People saying to just add seasonings and tabasco isnt going to do shite.
The flavor comes from the roux and the stock. If you can get the roux down and have a good stock, its pretty hard to make something that doesnt taste good after that.

Just eat it man. Gumbo is like boudin. It's mostly all descent just some way better than others. If your like me, you'll keep quiet. The little bit that my wife actually does cook isn't award winning but there's nothing like a hot meal to go home to. Don't frick it up
