Houston is definitely a mix of many regions. there are some parts of the city and east Texas in general that reminds me of the South, very closely in fact.

at the same time I can relate Houston to the greater southwest. I addition to that some parts of the city will remind you of New Orleans/Atlanta/Miami. Houston is a mix.

Food is tops in my opinion. cant compare the selection of what is available here.

I've lived in Houston and New Orleans and the overall good was better in Houston.

People who don't come here often don't realize how many Asian people there are in Houston and how good the Asian food is. Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean, Indian. The Vietnamese food here is amazing because of how big the ethnic population is.

Go frick yourself. Chicago isn't only better overall, I'd even bet that Chicago has better Mexican than Houston.
