I applied to be on HH, while I was still in the process of looking. They were all about it, but wanted me to close on a property first.
It makes financial sense, they can send a crew down here and film for a day or two, if there was a problem closing or something like that, they might have wasted all their time.

quote:+1. I've never been a fan of the HHI's, but we still watch HH almost nightly. Could care less if it's fake or not because I could care less about any of the people involved. Still a good show, fake or not.
never understood how this information could change someones opinion of the show.

Yup. On par for the course it seems.

I love that show. My favorite is a family of like four or five and a budget of $500,000.
First, they show a house the right size and in the budget, but it does need some spiffing up which will cost.
Then house number two is a bedroom too small and sixty five grand above their budget.
Then third, it is a house reasonably within budget with nice features.
Then its Sophies Choice

Seriously. I only watch it to see the different properties and prices. I don't care which one they actually pick.
:kige:
I just like seeing the houses and what you can get for your dollar in different parts of the country or world. I really don't care what house the people select.

I like the show with first time home buyers where they ask "yell us what you want in a house and what's your budget" then they list 4 car garage, helipad, indoor pool, etc.... Budget $125k
Then they take them to the best neighborhood in town and their eyes light up and they tell them, here's what you want. For $1.1mm.

same thing for the regular version
BR did the same thing. they had already bought a house, they showed them 2 more, then they one they own
its reality TV... just like all the other reality TV shows they are for entertainment purposes only
think the couple from the BR episode was hired by one of the local TV networks and bought a house off burbank....

Well, if you want me to "ruin" it for you, I would imagine the house they buy to renovate is already bought. No way they put the time/effort into plans just to have it fall through in closing.

This is pretty common knowledge.

Already knew the show was a fake. What kind of couple is going to pick their future home from only 3 choices given to them by a realtor.

All of the HH shows are frauds.
I know a guy that filmed after he closed on a house and he had never seen any of the other houses prior to filming. Filming also ran almost a year ahead of airing.
This actually makes me feel better about the show. I always wondered "how stupid are these people to buy one of only 3 houses they've seen?" I honestly don't give a rats arse about the weekly guests, it's the properties and prices that are interesting.

I know people who did this show near Atlanta 2 months after they already bought the place.
Basically the show not only scams viewers but it also scams the Georgia tax payer out of tax credits.

Buying on the Bayou looks fake also. A couple of weeks ago that had and episode where a couple was looking at houses on the Bayou in the Tupelo, MS area. Maybe next time they could go about 40 miles north and look at some homes on the Bayous of Tennessee.
The bayous and backwaters of Pickwick, and maybe a house or two down the Tenn-Tom.

Same here. Just like I watch Pawn Stars to see the stuff they bring in, couldn't care less about the "negotiation".

House Hunters, bleh, whatevs. The only reality show I liked was Trading Spaces with Paige Davis.
I want to believe she would be a freak in the sack
Edit: total fail job by me because I can't post the pic
