Simply a matter of consequences for bad behavior. Relatively speaking, there are none. Problem is the definition of "bad" has been turned on its head and anarchy is now embraced by a large percentage of the population. Human nature has us always probing the limits of what we can get away with. That envelope is constantly being stretched, and there seems to be no end in sight. Our current culture is not unlike Sodom and Gomorrah. I think a defining moment in cultural evolution was when pornography started being referred to as an "industry". At some point, it gained respectability. Now we're dealing with the twisted logic of Black Lives Matter (sit back and watch the race-baiters try to defend 5 dead policemen in Dallas). We rely far too much on the media to define our lives. The change has been so methodical and slow that over the years, it's been imperceptible - like an ominous glacier - all in the name of tolerance. See "The Camel's Nose In the Tent"

Moral of the story: we (as in you and me) need to be less tolerant of bullshite, and believing someone else will do it for us is wishful thinking. The world as we know it has its own self-policing mechanism. It's been short-circuited over the years by very opportunistic and self-serving sociopaths. On the timeline of the infinite, we're talking a very short period. It will swing back. Teach your children well.
