Horrible

Isabella Marie Sammartano

With deep sadness we mourn the sudden passing of our dear daughter Isabella (Bella) Sammartano, age 20, who succumbed to her battle with addiction and died from a heroin overdose in our home on March 24, 2017. Showing strength, determination, and a love for life, Bella lived clean for the last 16 months before her sudden relapse last week, succumbing to this terrible disease, now an epidemic and taking far too many of our loved ones from us every day.

Dead at 20... terrible.

Another reason why this should be treated as a medical condition and not a crime.

Probably a doctor that over prescribed pain pills.

If only every overdose or suicide obit was written this way as it could probably save a life or two. Or, at the very least, bring attention to the terrible tragedies and consequences of addictions.

I just don't know how anybody can do that shite, knowing what it can do to you.

And yes, I realize that this statement can be applied to virtually anything. But heroin is in a different class altogether.

Addiction is brutal. I finished 8th grade in 1999 in a class of about 80 student. We've lost 2 guys to overdoses and 1 to suicide (was a depressed addict).

Prayers to the family.

You better hope and pray that your life is never affected by addiction. It is a disease that is physical, mental, and spiritual. If you don't believe that, I hope for your sake that you never come to believe it.
