The affects can be. Just like the affects of using.

Yes. So is shooting heroin. You aren't addicted from a single injection any more than someone who gets a shot of Dilaudid at the ER after a car accident is addicted

Stop digging your hole. You lost

Good for you buddy.

FWIW I agree with your initial post, as someone who's sibling spent three months in rehab and is now on the cusp of 5 years clean.

You better hope and pray that your life is never affected by addiction. It is a disease that is physical, mental, and spiritual. If you don't believe that, I hope for your sake that you never come to believe it.

Addiction IS NOT a disease people. Its some made up bullshite probably by some ignorant liberals to make people feel better about themselves. Addiction is the result of a bad choice or series of bad choices. Its not a disease. These people have no one to blame but themselves for making the terrible choice to try the drugs in the first place. Addiction to the drug is the result of the bad choice. No different from an unwanted pregnancy. Pregnancy is the result of the choice to have sex. I'm addicted to skoal, so yeah lets blame something else. I have a disease. You people are sick. I made a choice to start dipping and the end result is me being addicted to it. You people are out of touch with reality.

Sex can also lead to AIDS or multiple other diseases that are also a result of poor choices. Just because something is the result of bad choices doesn't mean it's automatically not a disease.

I don't want to see anyone bitching about smoking cigarrettes now that it's a disease.

It's an interesting topic

Is it a disease? Sure I guess

But it is a disease one brought upon themselves

You aren't addicted to heroin without ever trying it. So to become addicted one must first make the decision themselves to try heroin

For example, AIDS is a disease

Now, would this board feel sorry for a gay man who got AIDS from getting pounded in the arse unprotected?

Absolutely not

So it is an interesting study into the human psyche to see who and what we feel "sorry for."
