Well Ed or Coco already said Bluebonnet isn’t an option. Residents don’t want the extra traffic in their hood. Proof everyone becomes a NIMBY when it’s their yard that’s gonna be used

A bridge to bluebonnet would be retarded

It's probably one of the 10 most congested streets in BR and there's really no room to expand it.

Are there any plans being made to integrate a new bridge once you cross the River?

Right now traffic at Bluebonnet and 30 backs up. Adding a new bridge and thousands of new cars on Bluebonnet and 30 without some big ancillary project to keep Bluebonnet from becoming a major highway would be crazy.

m having a hard time figuring out where all of the traffic would go from there other than 30. Bluebonnet is a cluster already.
they all connect to 30. 30 would eventually be upgraded.

Just divert the damn trucks around BR, any damn spot will do. Other states can build 20 miles of freeway a month but LA stares at a huge need for 50 years and does nothing.

Not one of them connects directly to I-10

the bridge needs to be an expressway to I-10 in Gonzales.
And also an expressway from the west side of the river to I10

Just put the thing in Plaquemine and split the distance between the miss river bridge and the sunshine.

Why is this hard?

SGPD finna eat. But, honestly, I hope they've realized that HWY 30 is nowhere near able to accept this traffic without heavy modification.

yeah i dont get it either.
none of these are a viable truck-route from 10/12 anyway. plaquemine has always made the most sense

In a perfect world, you’d have an express way running from the MS crossing at Bluebonnet all the way down to I-10 in Ascension.

Obviously will never happen.

OMFG just build one. Literally anything north of White Castle.

Literally won't solve a thing and will keep Baton Rouge restricted. It needs to bypass all of it at least to Gonzales and connect with i10.

The fifth one down from the top. At least it's not in a curve in the river (better for river navigation) and only slight curves in the highway (unlike the hairpin turn on the I-10 entering or exiting Baton Rouge).
Plus it's in a good location to help our Baton Rouge traffic by allowing people an alternate route not too far off the beaten path.

If it doesn’t cross the river south of BR and connect to 10 and then 12 don’t waste our money.

What’s the point as BR is already split like a pie between both interstates.

No matter where they build it, these slapdicks are sure to create a choke point just as bad as the one that currently exists

After this study, do another study for the loop.
Then, take the findings of those two, hire another consulting firm and combine the two.

Bluebonnet is not a viable option, regardless of what any resident of any neighborhood says.

The bottle neck eastbound on I-10 off the bridge is borderline criminal and a sign of an incompetent government at work.
