Of course it is littering and of course it is trashy.

What if a restaurant decided to throw all their 'basic food items' in the lot behind the restaurant or is it quantity that makes it littering?

If you dont want to send them to a landfill, compost them but stop throwing them on the side of the street.

My wife's aunt got a ticket for littering when my brother in law threw out the last bit of a McDonalds ice cream cone. It didn't even have the paper still on it. Just the stump of the cone. I would have fought that one. I think they were in Columbus Ga or she probably would have fought it, but she lives in Alabama about 2 hours away.
