Honestly thought when I moved to Texas I would have great Mexican and it's really not the case. Very underwhelming in Houston
Are you fricking serious?
Lupe Tortilla, Papacito's, El Tiempo, ect aren't Mexican...it's Tex Mex, and of those El Teimpo is the best.
If you want actual Mexican food, there are literally thousands of options in Houston, a city where probably half the population is either of Mexican or Central/South American decent.
It's not that you're underwhelmed because have a better regard for food because you're from, excuse me, New Orleans, it's just that you're ignorant of where to get Mexican food in this city.

No kidding. Tex-mex is locked up.
And if you want "Mexican" food the number of taquerias in Houston and area have to number over a thousand. Not all can be good but damn some have to be damned good.

I am well aware there are a thousand and I currently live in north side which is like little fricking Mexico and they all blow. I actively seek the "best" and I am constantly disappointed. Sorry this offended you but I was and still am disappointed in Mexican food in Houston.

It's good, but you don't have to spend $100 in Houston for good Mexican food.
