Once while at LSU and 90,00 people knew I was tripping. It was the worst experience of my life... Never again...

I do have a brother in law that has jumped the shark on opiates and have heard people talk about Ibogaine. Curious if anyone has heard about its effectiveness...

Dabbled a bit but it's been years. Would like to trip again in a safe environment with a few others around in case it goes bad

I am seriously considering paying for him to travel to a place where it's legal. I worry though that he'd be packing on the flight/ trip and I'd get involved somehow... Something needs to change though, he's stolen thousands from almost any person he's been close to.

For sure. And let's be real, drugs aren't for everyone. Some people get the initial nervous rush from shrooms (which precedes the relaxation) and FREAK THE frick OUT. You can always tell who had too much too fast.

I've used mushrooms fairly regularly for going on 20 years. Like most people I started out as young and dumb and graduated to more responsible use. I have an intense reaction to mushrooms compared to most of my friends. I still start out with an hour of extreme negativity and physical discomfort but now I have experience and meditation practice that allows me to ride it out and pull myself out of it. Which makes it that much more enjoyable and enlightening.

The problem is that in traditional cultures there are traditions of initiation and shamans that can guide users. Our culture lacks all of that because of our naive and illogical view of these substances and experiences. So you have kids that have no idea what they're doing which leads to problems.

Friend's brother folded up 30 hits into his sock when pulled over for a traffic stop. It was summer out. Was never the same after that and I'm putting that lightly. Honestly very sad to think about now considering what he used to be like. Not cool messing around with that stuff in large doses.

The only time I've ever done shrooms was with tea; downed the whole solo cup in one gulp, watched my fingers melt off and crawled into the back of my Ford Explorer during a thunderstorm to watch rainbow colored figure eights from the back of my eyelids for three hours. Best damn coming-down high ever though

The first time I smoked pot I had way too much and time slowed down, I was seeing colors in the night sky, and my I had a full on panic attack. I get pretty bad intrusive thoughts due to OCD and they took over. This was a few years back and it really fricked with me as I wasnt ready.

I tried it again for the LSU - Bama game this year (got super stoned, not like a hit or two from a blunt which I was okay with before) while walking around Tuscaloosa and once I overcame that initial anxiety wall where you either enjoy it or lose your shite (body started vibrating), that was one of the best experiences I ever had. Cant wait to have another one like that

I feel like everyone reacts differently to things. Some of the highs I have had off weed people think I am BSing. Other than that, I havent really dabbled in hallucinogens.

Edit: if Benadryl and alcohol together count, I've had some wild nights on accident. Seeing shadows move, things that didnt exist there like spiders, hearing loud noises and voices, not knowing if my eyes are open or if I am just dreaming. I ended up following a voice around my ex girlfriends house and I kept seeing this shadow following me. Bad combo.

yep, after my honorable discharge - while blowing my 1,000 bucks on hippie girls and LSD in the Bay Area (San Fran not Chack) back in 1969 - the only problem that follows me is the fricking PT board - other than that I'm good. I do have flash backs reading the daily lunch "thray" every once in a while.

And here's where I take issue. I don't care what you choose to do with your own body, but if you had fallen into the other 50% that goes apeshit, at that point you're affecting me. Do that shite in your own home, and leave me out of your trip.

I was at home. Went outside later when we all felt ready to. Not like anything was going to happen. Jesus dude

MDMA therapy has already proven to drastically help people suffering from PTSD and similar symptoms. It's crazy to think that there are memories, feelings, and experiences that your brain has locked away from you but can only be rationalized through certain drugs. I'm a huge supporter of using hallucinogens for therapy as long as it's in a controlled environment with a professional. Jason Ellis (first person to pop into my mind), a huge radio host on XM, went thought some of these treatments involving hallucinogenics and was actually able to recall memories of his father molesting him. He's very open about it but always thought the random triggers were just from dreams or crazy thoughts until his braid was able to fully allow access to these "locked away" memories.
I've done my share of hallucinogens throughout the years and can understand how they would be therapeutic if taken in a professional setting. It sounds dumb to say and if you've never taken acid you won't understand but everytime I have tripped it made me into a better person. Mushrooms just make me laugh and think about stupid shite. I would love to get dosed with MDMA and talk to a psychologist.

Typed that out on an iPad while laying in bed, I'm sure there's plenty of spelling/punctuation errors

I took LSD 20-30 times. Not in 25 years though.I doubt that I took anything as strong as Ayahuasca.

The 1st time I took LSD was the night before I went home for the Summer from my Freshman year at College.

It had a big impact on me.For the positive I believe.

I think you have to have a stable mind to handle Hallucinogenics.

LSD helped several Nobel prize winners make amazing discoveries like the structure of DNA as we know it as well as how DNA can be duplicated. You have to have you head up your arse if you really don't believe mind altering chemicals have helped scientists and psychoanalysts.

There has actually been some serious movement forward I. The last 2-3 years towards these types of treatments. I know there was a doctor in Charleston accepting vets for clinical trails and want to say the same for Denver, some spots in California, and several doctors throughout Canada. I'll try to find the article but the numbers they were putting out were pretty amazing, something like 80% of patients treated for PTSD with MDMA were cured. The same people were proven to be cured years later in a follow up study.

i think (or hope, at least) pretty much everyone outside of the most hardcore prohibitionists agrees that small MDMA doses will help people open up in therapy
