Lee High Baton Rouge back in either '70 or '71 Both David Duke & someone associated with the Black Panthers were on campus & shite went down.

Couple of people brought their bad azz german shepherds to school & couple of guys(to remain unnamed ) was brandishing a chainsaw. Everybody went around school together in groups. Remember well getting whacked in back with a piece of pipe in the bathroom.

Think it lasted 2-3 days. Ironic thing was, if these asshats from outside hadn't shown up.....we really didn't have any black/white tension to speak of. Sad time for sure

When the Stoney Brook 11 didn't cause one several years ago, I think BR is safe.

My middle school staged a walk out in the '90s after the school administration changed the locker schedule.

Istrouma Middle?

I remember the walk out, but I couldn't remember what it was for.

A good friend of mine, now deceased, was the first law enforcement responder, an EBRP Sheriff's Deputy. He always told the story that he had just left his mother's, where he left his automatic rifle behind inadvertently. He said that had he had it with him, instead of only his service revolver, there would have been no riot as there would have been no rioter left standing.

In the early 70s there was a bad riot on North Blvd. An old newscaster reporting that day named Bob Johnson was beaten in the head with a brick. He was a vegetable from that day forward. He just died not long ago ..

I was in first grade and remember that.

I don't think you know what a riot is.
