Have there ever been riots in Baton Rouge?

The two I can think of is the North Baton Rouge riots when Mike Tyson knocked out the Black Rhino Clifford Etienne in 30 seconds and the mini post-Katrina riot at the River Center.

The Katrina raping and pillaging that was going on downtown that had people in my office scared to go get lunch.

Black panther or factions of it rioted around 1969 or 1970 on north blvd.

In the early 70s there was a bad riot on North Blvd. An old newscaster reporting that day named Bob Johnson was beaten in the head with a brick. He was a vegetable from that day forward. He just died not long ago ..

My high school had a riot in the 90's when no black cheerleaders made the squad. It was in assumption parish, not in EBR though.

I was a Senior there. That was a walkout/protest not a riot. That whole thing was started by the parent of one black girl that tried out. Nevermind that 2 of the judges were black.
I remember them demanding equal representation, and the school board said fine, but that means the football and basketball teams will need equal representation to, and then they backpedaled.
