I think that people who are well off just have different opinions than middle/lower class on presentation. Most of the time the most expensive thing is the best, plus people will see how much coin you spent and know you probably have money. Why is that a bad thing ?

While I can't believe this isn't a troll, I'll bite.

If it isn't summer in a hot state and you wear Under Armour, Nike, Adidas or any sportswear brand to work, you are not the "classiest" person in the workplace. During the summer you can get a pass simply because they are excellent in the heat

Having properly fitting clothes that are high quality garners respect. High quality clothing is not reserved for "expensive" clothing brands where you drop a "few grand." If VP is not in your job title and you don't work in a place like Manhattan, wearing flashy expensive designers shows that you are a moron for buying a piece of overpriced fabric.

I've always considered it to be a fad like when addidias first came out. I have a few dry fit shirts to workout in and a pair of golf shorts that people gave me.

I think it's better than Adidas but still nowhere near nike. Wouldn't call it trashy just yet.

I wouldn't say I'm rich but I do make a lot. I like people to know that by looking at me. I know a lot of people like this and see no problem with it

I'll admit that some of the places I shop at are trashy. But I found a pair of UnderArmour running shorts, with the mesh lining in them, and a workout shirt, for a grand total under $20 at one of them. I will spend money on a suit that will last me years. I have a custom fit nice suit I spent around $800 on over 7 years ago that still fits me perfectly and looks great. But I also have some off the rack stuff that I just had hemmed that I wear to work most days. No sense in wearing the nice stuff every day. Save that for big meetings and events.

But I absolutely refuse to spend money on workout clothes. They are disposable. I wear them out in under a year, and toss them. Most I've spent on any one item was about $15 for a pair of running/windpants last year when it was getting cooler and I wanted to keep running outdoors. Everything else was under $10. The best value are my Adidas dry fit style shorts. A couple pair of them are like 7-8 years old and no rips, tears, or snags in them. Even the drawstrings are still good. I didn't pay over $10 for those. But the shirts get worn out more quickly for some reason.

That is false. I would trade my BMW in for my sister's mom car Hyundai Sante Fe any day. These Luxury cars are pieces of shite money holes despite "impressing people."

When it comes to clothing, if made from the same material and style, majority of men's clothing is pretty identical. The key difference comes to fit, "higher class" people typically like looking good and get their stuff tailored/altered. Trust me, I own both, a well tailored Nautica brand of khaki pants looks the same as my Brooks Brothers pair. Price difference was about 100$

Why would you want people to know how rich you are? Money does not equal class. I know a lot of ultra rich douches. I know a lot of classy people who don't earn a ton

If you make 50k / month and have to ask about classiness, you clearly are new money

I make like 90k a year. I know it's trash money but I'm just getting started out. I'm really having to pinch my pennies, living alone, unwed and without kids. Life's a struggle.
