ill assume he sued the shite out of someone over something very trivial and that 50k per month is really one lump sum of 50k.

My brother works on the sell side in equity research for a fairly well-known bank in NYC. Some of the stories I've heard about partners openly mocking junior analysts for wearing Philippe watches or Fioravanti suits are awesome. If you walked into, say, Goldman as a day 1 junior analyst wearing $10,000 worth of crap, you'll be virtually run out the door. Contrary to popular belief, they don't take to conspicuous spending, especially by the youngins, very well.

Fit always matters a lot more than brand, at least in my opinion. I shop almost exclusively on eBay unless I am getting something that is bespoke. You can spend like a poor and dress like a rich if you know what you're doing on there.
