Darth .. I would like to think the men and women that fought for my country and freedom, bravely, wouldn't need to RA posters on an anonymous message that are meanies to them .. You fought back Sadam, but you couldn't fend off lsutigerfan23476 on tiger droppings ..

Damn, this actually could have been an interesting subject to pass a Saturday at work.... And once again it's devolved into whatever this is.
But I've noticed most of the people bitching about this subject are either military wives or reservists who love getting pissed off at "civilians". Military personnel shouldn't be above criticism, in fact the majority of military people are kinda shitty and deserve the criticism (not all but enough of a majority so it's justified).

Oh I see what this is. I thought it was a thread where people with differing opinions and perspectives have a good back and forth, but that's not what you simple minded fools want. Right. And we need to be fair. Just like people get pissed about the outspoken teachers...people can get pissed about the outspoken servicemen/veterans.
Obviously those people give their respective groups a bad rap, but they don't necessarily represent their groups. Although they do because they choose to be outspoken. Of course the ones I know are great people.

I have not noticed the "butt hurt" as you label it.
What I have noticed, and am doing myself is kindly explaining the difference to people. I get that their hearts are in the right place, but so are the veterans who are trying to make sure the focus this weekend is in the right place.
It makes me uncomfortable on this weekend to have anything made of my service. This weekend is absolutely not about those who served and came home it is about those who paid the ultimate price and if trying to ensure that is the focus hurts you in some way too tricking bad.
