I hate it when people wear suits and they aren't even executives. I usually walk up to them and grill them about where they work and what they know about performance indicators.

by tduecen So Dath's military experience came from XBox or Playstation?
I fought in the First Gulf War and served in the regular army and army guard for 10 years. What have you ever done for your country?

I'm a veteran and associate with a lot of veterans.
This is true. But if you notice in most of the videos you see a young man aka "a kid" saying "I spent 4 years in the _______". Indiscretion of youth.
I can honestly say I've never heard anyone bitch or "freaking out" about this among my peers. Is this a Facebook phenomenon? Any links?

I first noticed it with all the stolen valor stuff. The veterans/soldiers making the videos are bigger assholes than the people stealing valor.

But now with Memorial Day weekend here, I've noticed a new form of bitching from them. The veterans are freaking out on people who do not know the difference between Vets day and Memorial Day.

Went to college, got a job and paid taxes. You're welcome, everybody

He probably pays taxes .. He votes .. He takes his hat off at baseball games and sings the national anthem ,, He's a teacher .. so he educates children .. and I am sure he contributes to society .. what's your point ?

Valid point, but he did call out a vet.

My veteran roommate has been posting pics on Facebook for a few days like
No big deal really, but I assume that's what people are talking about.

My point?
What's his point?
What don't you ask him what his point was?
He's the one questioning me over what I've done for my country.

You seem angry, why is that?

What my wife pointed out to me today, which I kind of knew, but good to be reminded. She was a nurse in the air force and saw a lot of horrible stuff a long with casualties. It's an important distinction to vets.

Looks like he's done as much for his country as you have ..
T-Duck .. 7
Darth .. 3

Most people who join the army don't do it because of some patriotic duty. It doesn't mean we can't celebrate what veterans do, but the whole "what I've done for my country" shite is just tiresome.
Posted on 5/23/15 at 10:21 am to hendersonshands
While true, I have never seen it as a big deal. It's not like people cant do both. just say thank you and ask them to thank the fallen in a prayer or moment of silence if praying isn't PC anymore.

I'm not defending how Darth reacted, but this isn't the "holiday" to make THAT point.
