Has anybody replaced a 2002 Honda accord ex transmission?

My check engine light came on my 2002 Honda accord ex and got a diagnostic test at auto zone. The code said my transmission might be going out and I have 202,200 miles on it. If I have to replace the transmission what is the average cost and labor total? Also where is a good place to take it in the Baton Rouge area?

Yep. Twice.
The first one I put in had an issue, so I had to do it twice. It wasn't too bad.
I have access to a nice shop though.

The code said P0780 for shift malfunction. They gave me a print out and looked it up saying its dealing with the transmission. Everytime I leave in the morning and leave work in the afternoon my car jilts when I shift from reverse to drive but that is the only time it does that.

Go get it properly diagnosed... Check engine light will not tell you a transmission is going out. AGCO Auto on Coursey...

Get it looked at before it self destructs. It may be repairable. Don't wait.
A recycled (junkyard)transmission will save you a lot of money. they are probably readily available since Honda uses interchangeable parts a lot.

Anyhow, to the OP i'm assuming you have V-6 which has terd of tranny in it to begin with it. Consider yourself lucky to have made it this far, call a salvage yard get one with at least a 90 day warranty. Tranny will run you around a grand plus labor.

It could be a shift solenoid going out but a p0780 code is difficult to track down the actual problem. Let me guess, it's a v6 because it's a known issue among them. Honda engines only loves Honda fluids, I found out the hard way by replacing it with Castrol A/T fluid. Luckily for me I got 220k miles out of my car before selling it.
