Not to hijack this thread completely but is there any type of deductions for housing family that was displaced?...

re: What is an average, safe % of monthly post tax income to spend on home. - Jblac15
I'm not sure if your figures include your wife's income or not, but when we bought our house we based everything on my income alone and it has worked out really well for us. Our mortgage is right at 20% of my take home pay. My wife has taken this last school year (teacher) off for some health-relat...

re: Toyota or Ford - Jblac15
Can't go wrong with either choice. With regular maintenance, either truck will last over 200k. I've been a die-hard Ford truck guy since years before I could even drive (legally). After owning nothing but Fords for the last 12 years, I broke down and bought a 2012 Tundra and couldn't be happier...

re: Natchez MS Bed and Breakfast - Jblac15
We stayed at the EOLA a couple months ago. Nice hotel with a very old feel. It was within walking distance to everything we wanted to do downtown. We toured the Dunleith and it was definitely a nicer place....

re: Lets talk about quality cheap tools - Jblac15
Love some Harbor Freight... If you're into woodworking, you should check out their Pocket Hole Jig. Just picked one up last week and it's a great tool for the price. Was looking at the Kreg jig for $120 at Lowes, but this one was $65 ($50.00 with my 25% coupon). It's all metal and very nicely ...

re: Cons of not titling ATV - Jblac15
Depends on where you live and hunt, but in LA it's not that big of a deal. Not sure about other states. I've owned 7 ATVS and have never switched the title to my name on any of them. Actually I've only had the title for a handful of them period. I just run the Vin# through state police database to m...

re: Anyone here bow hunt Tunica Hills WMA? - Jblac15
Would also like some insight on hunting WMA's in general. I understand the best time to scout is in the off season, but is there any time during deer season that is safe to go explore/scout the areas? ...

re: How often do you need 4x4 in your truck? - Jblac15
Better to have and not need... but I also didn't pay 10k more just to get 4x4. If anything it was a 2k difference (used Tundra). Also, the resale is always easier with a 4x4. When I was selling my F-150 a few years ago, the first question anyone asked was if it was 4x4. After being asked that ...

re: Question for the Woodworkers - Jblac15
Thanks for all the input guys. What if I filled my Crawfish pot with water and let it get hot, but not boiling, and let the legs soak in it for a little while? Seems like a good combination of some of the ideas above....

Question for the Woodworkers - Jblac15
Looking for some woodworking advice. I'm trying to salvage my moms dining room table that was completely submerged in the flood. The table is made of solid wood, no particle board anywhere. The table top will be OK with a few more applications of Murphy's Oil, but the legs are in rough shape. Th...
