It's a lot harder to track where money gets spent in Haiti than a city like Houston

Much more difficult to make donation to corrupt entities. Time has repeatedly shown the money will not be well spent.

This is good, but why didn't any of these companies donate when BR flooded last year, or SC or Wva?
As bad as the floods in Baton Rouge were last year, Baton Rouge has a population of 230k and it didn't wipe out the whole city. If I remember, Taylor Swift donated $1M, there were some former LSU players now in the NFL who donated.
Many people from all over donated to different charities... So who knows how much of that was actually used for the actual cause.. But Harvey was much bigger than the BR flood. Like I said, the BR flood sucked and there are people who are still trying to recover, but it just wasn't as big of an event.

Is there a tracker that shows who donates? In other words, if someone wanted to donate $500k without making it public, they could do so right?

I am pretty sure a lot of people gave after Katrina.
This is just one of a bunch of articles about people donating after Katrina.

I did a conversion of Michael Dell's contribution vs his worth compared to mine, and for me to give the same proportion of my savings away would be less than 45 dollars

Add Geiselle Automatics for $75,000
They just sold 500 SSA-E "God Bless Texas Special Edition" triggers for $150(normally $240)and every penny was used to purchase the Houston PD 2 boats for search and rescue plus dive equipment
