You people need an update on your style. Gray suits can be worn with brown shoes.

I would say pleats and classic fit shirts are acceptable. They may not be the latest, most up to date style, but they still work. They are timeless and will last longer than a lot of the shite people wear right now. That doesn't mean that I don't wear flat front pants or the other stuff considered in style right now, just that I don't think it's awful to wear traditional stuff as well. I have equal amounts of both.
And as for grey and brown not matching, you're wrong. Its on the internet, so its definitely true

I've said that brown and grey match, and there's no dispute. Others are claiming only black.

I wear brown with navy, also. Pretty much only wear black with black. And I'm not big on a black suit.

No kidding.
Even if you want to be really conservative, cordo/merlot/whatever shoes are perfection w/ gray.
I wear suits all the time and I can't remember the last time I had to wear black shoes.

My sister is a fashion designer in NYC, and she says grey with brown looks good. Just make sure the shades are complementary.

one of the experts at Perlis told me it was a faux pas to wear light grey at night. Not saying i wouldnt do it, i like the look, but that is what he told me

Brown shoes would be ok, my personal choice would I nicely shined black cap toe
Blue pinstripe or solid blue shirt with a nice patterned tie

Gray suits can be worn with brown shoes.

I will not be caught in a navy suit with black shoes. Brown all the way for me in that case. Personal preference.

If you are wearing brown shoes with a grey suit, why are you concerned with the color of the shirt and tie?

Both are acceptable depending on the occasion. I do believe that brown looks more informal.
