I need specifics if possible please. Is it too much to do the Paintbrush Canyon up to Solitude Lake and back down Cascade Canyon in one day?

It's around 19 miles? Has anyone done this or part of it?

I don't really want to camp...too much money to buy gear.

It'll be in June...probably lots of snow left. Will that be a huge problem on the Paintbrush divide?

Does anything else in GTNP compare?

frick yea that's too much. you would have to book it the entire time and not enjoy yourself, and I still seriously doubt your out by dark. string lake TH I'm assuming.

Ive done paintbrush to holly lake and back. it's awesome, but take your time and enjoy it. I was there in june and there was a lot less snow than you think.

19 miles at ~10K ft is pretty ambitious in my opinion. Especially if you don't have gear to camp if needed.

Ya'll are probably right...Might have to do String Lake to the divide on one day followed by Jenny Lake to Solitude a couple days later.

I'm assuming there will be lots of snow in June based on them already receiving almost 300 inches this season.

I've done it - in two days in August without enough snow to mention, and wish I'd done it in three instead. Honestly this is a trip where you want to take your time. Go ahead and buy the gear, you'll use it again on another trip anyway.

If you do it in one day you will hate yourself because a) it's harder than you think, b) it's too spectacular to rush through.

It was the best hike I've ever done. At 14ish miles it's about the furthest Teton hike i'd recommend to do in 1 day.

That would be the main problem in June. 19 miles is doable if you are in good hiking shape. 14 is comfortable for me in a day. Figure hike almost 2 miles an hour for 7-8 hours. That gives plenty of time to stop for pictures or get to camp and setup. Most of the trails are in good condition so you can see the sights while on the move.

Just make sure to check out bear regulation for Teton NP. They don't recommend hiking late into the evening when the grizzlies will be grazing.

We actually spotted a juvenile about 50 yards away sitting in the middle of the cascade trail about a mile or 2 in. I'm sure his momma wasnt far. Hightailed it back down the trail and came back the next day lol

Coming face to face with a bear or a moose will really get the heart pounding. Make noise, travel in a group and give them plenty space. I always carry bear spray in grizzly country, figure it should work for moose also.

I have had more scares with moose than bears in Yellowstone and Glacier on the trails.

It's tough to fight the urge.

My boys were ahead of me at Glacier and came running back the trail to me. They had come 10 yards from a bull moose. Never seen them that shade of white

we were far enough away from it where running was probably the best idea. i was just glad we spotted it in a section where the trail straightened out instead of coming out of a bend and it had been right there 10ft away.
