Underrated band, but not my point. I am watching a live concert from 1970. I’ve noticed here and at other concerts from these times, the complete lack of fatties, male or female. I don’t know if it’s lifestyle, drugs, diet or a combination of all of those. Just a random observation. As you were.

How old are you?
ETA: I should clarify, I don't mean that in a negative manner. Admittedly, I'm long in the tooth and was in "that scene." It wasn't drugs or anything of the like. We just didn't have a ton of fast food, processed foods, junk food, Starbuck's "coffee drinks" which are 500+ calories, triple IPAS which are 300 calories, Ben & Jerry's and such. People ate at home more, didn't snack as much, and ate three, good meals typically cooked at home. Going out to eat a restaurant was a treat. Now, it's just a Tuesday night.
For example, anytime I stop off for gas, I see families with Twizzlers, Starbucks iced coffee beverages, beef jerky, Airheads, M&Ms, potato chips, Icees, and Mountain Dew. That just wasn't a thing growing up. People are either more gluttonous or have more bad options available to them. Probably a little bit of both. Different times.

In general there were a lot less fatties back then. The completely processed food and especially sugar ls hadn’t become a dietary staple for Americans the way they are now.

And people didn't super size their meals and didn't sit on their asses playing video games

We also didn't have 22 pound chickens all hopped up on God knows what. A four pound chicken breast bigger than my head is unnatural, I don't care what anyone says.

Even in the late 80’s it seemed there were a lot fewer fatass slobs.

Dude, it’s an OFF TOPIC Lounge. How can anything be irrelevant, besides your opinions?

That’s what LCA132 thought and that’s why he/she is so upset.

Processed sugar is the devil.
Fatties cannot imagine how much better their lives would be without it.

They serve lactose smoothie sour IPAs now - basically a Baskin Robin's shake. Go order a coffee. They look at you weird if it isn't loaded down with cream, flavored syrups, and sugar.

Not many people in those days sat behind a computer for 8 hours a day. We had things called factories where people did manual labor and made stuff.
Posted on 5/19/23 at 8:49 pm to JackieTreehorn
We had cars and drove everywhere… we had no shortage of processed food and binged on macdonalds or pizza after a night drinking…
We did not super size every meal and sat in front of tv at night after we were out all day working or out on a ball field or hiking in the woods..also for good or bad you would get body shamed pretty quick …
And yes they were very good am”American band”
