One of my first days at orientation I managed to get lost. Cheney found me wandering the old building and gave me a quick tour of the offices. He was a kind, brilliant man.

Extremely upset to hear this. He is one of the major reasons I stayed in law school. An amazing man and mentor.

RIP

Not my favorite professor by any means, and I somehow managed to get on his shite list outside class. BUT, along with Mengis, Litvinoff, and Maraist, they were the real OG at Paul M. Hebert circa late 1990s. R.I.P.

At the end of the talk about substance abuse problems amongst lawyers at orientation, Cheney said enough about that. kegs upstairs, I'll be the first one there.

He was a great man. Louisiana lost a legend. He was a true fountain of knowledge while being one of the kindest, funniest, and liveliest people I've ever met. I'm really going to miss him. He was a real mentor. I feel honored to be counted among the number of students he had taught over the years.

Spent the day in a cle yesterday in the old building, and Joe Mengiss did an hour on security devices. I was thinking about his dad Prof Mengiss and Cheney Jo at the end of the day. Both were true gentleman and great mentors to me while in school.

Last year for our reunion we were able to hang out with him most of the day at the tailgate. We brought him some tall boys for old time sakes. He loved catching up with everyone and drinking those natty lights
