I've been fighting off a strong grip, trying to get my right hand to roll over the tip a little more, and apply less pressure.

Nothing's easy in life.

Its a cliché, but I struggle taking my game from the range, specifically my driver, to the course.

Is it mental? Yes AND no. You're not practicing correctly because you (and MANY, MANY others) have the attitude that there's always another range ball to hit. When you're on the range do EXACTLY the same things you'd do on the course & get pissed when you screw up a shot, not the "I'll just hit another range ball" attitude. When you make "practice" the same as "playing", then you'll take it to the course.

My biggest issue is distance off the tee. I'm approaching 55 and not as flexible as I used to be so my distance has dropped some. I can live with it, as long as I hit fairways and can putt.

I played nine yesterday at the local goat ranch with my kid after work. I decided to walk but took out every other club forcing me to be creative on in between distances (use more club and cut down swing, etc) Actually scored really well, 39. I carried driver, hybrid, 5, 7, 9, 52*, 58* Putter. When we go back tomorrow I'll leave those out and use 3W, 4,6,8, PW, SW Putter.

Thibby would be glad to know the tractor hazard is gone.

The one time he played there a tractor had broken down in the middle of a fairway. He complains about it anytime that course gets mentioned. It's a real goat ranch, 9 holes with greens about the size of a kiddie pool....all sloped about 40*.

I've tried to start because my company sponsors a pretty awesome PGA event and sends a lot of employees to go play in the associated charity tournament. I can putt and chip to where I don't completely embarrass myself, but I can't drive for the life of me. I struggle with not swinging as hard as I can, and I'm all arms when I swing. I can't keep my leading elbow straight either. I'm not flexible at all, and can't draw back very far at all before I have to bend it.

Inconsistent short game. 2/3 of my hits are wtf and the other 1/3 are perfect.

I struggle severely in judging putts. Makes for a couple 3-putts per round.

or any other former baseball players trying to convert your swing to golf. this vid will help for sure, the instructor is hands down the best teacher of golf I know of. Hope it works for you.

before trying this move though, Id suggest you watch his grip video, because without a good grip nothing you do will work.
