getting my hips rotated around on the ball. I feel like I should drive it a lot better than I do but my swing is all arms.
This might be the toughest move in golf. Starting the swing with your lower body without spinning out or casting the club. If you've never played baseball, they have this thing called the Orange whippy. Hit one next time you're in a golf store, it forces you to make a proper swing started with your lower body.

When I want to hit the slow playing assholes in front of me I usually mis-club & hit it over their heads.

Hitting the ball straight or not topping it.

When I try to create this lag with my hands in front of the ball, I tend to leave the club face open and my hosel hits the ball before the club face gets square.
S H A N K ! ! !
Back to sweeping it off the turf. I can do that.

I overswing big time. My backswing goes way past parallel.
I am working on it.

Looking for suggestions also (I know it's hard to do without seeing my swing)
I make great contact on my drive, but my misses are hard slices that come out real hard and low and just disappear right.. That's the only miss I have on my drive.. I rarely miss left and when I do, it's just a slight draw and it looks like in doing it on purpose
Lately, I've been working on that drill where you keep either a club head cover or something tucked under my right arm and that has helped some, but I'm still not consistent from the tee box

Even with full swing or is it mainly happening when you half or 3/4 swing?
If I have a yardage where I can get a full swing I can throw it way in the air, not close to the pin but it at least looks pretty
If I have to take anything less than a full swing it could be a disaster.

Actually getting out and playing.

i was thinking about testing that out. When i was growing up learning to play I played both baseball and golf during the summer. My baseball swing would start to mirror my golf swing and my instructors would keep trying to correct me. It felt natural to me to swing it the same, but they seemed to want to change it.

Its a cliché, but I struggle taking my game from the range, specifically my driver, to the course. I'm not bad off the tee, but I'm not hitting my driver anywhere close to the way I'm hitting it on the range. On the range, I'm consistently driving 260+ with a little draw. On the course, the fade & push show up. Its obviously a mental thing.

Can someone teach me stop slicing and to hit my irons better?
Posted on 5/5/15 at 9:15 am to hendersonshands
As a quick fix, just try to shorten your backswing.

def mental. no pressure on the range to put it on the fairway

this has worked for me some. if i think about doing it, it causes me to slow my back swing down and shorten up just a bit.... major improvements in consistency. I played the farm the other day and shot 89 and it was probably my best overall round ever striking the ball. I probably could've knocked a couple more strokes off if i could made a couple of puts... i know 89 isn't great, but for me it was a step in a positive direction.
I have the new Mizuno JPXs and i'm struggling with the distances a bit b/c they are a lot longer than the G5s I had... but the biggest thing i'm learning is letting the irons do the work and not trying to do too much with them. if i pick the right club and just take my time it seems to work. go figure

Sounds like you're drifting your upper body forward on the downswing.
You want your upper body to stay in place. Moving your upper body forward moves your tilted axis forward, so the bottom of your swing will be where your torso is, too far in front of the ball. When you make contact the club is slicing the ball and throwing it out right.
If that's not it, you're swallowing out your swing too much and coming in under plane. If that's it, you can put an alignment rod in the ground behind you parallel to your plane. If you hit the stick you've dropped too far.
Again, I could be wrong.

Yeah, I try to create that pressure on the range by going through the routine and coming up with an imaginary fairway in my head...but it'll never be the same.

Hogan played the course in his head, on the range.
Pulled the club for each shot in sequence while he was warming up.

Grip is a major problem for me. I just can't get comfortable anymore.
