Fine. I misspoke with the day-to-day comment.

If it gets me free drinks with friends and away from crowds, I would be all for them.

Dude, we get it. You don't like football. Ever thought most guys would prefer going to that 7 days a week over getting dressed up for some wedding you don't really care about?

yeah you're right bro. I hate football :roll eyes:

I'm sorry you let a game run your life. That must suck.

Personally, 100% fine by me. NYE is usually overrated anyway.

Once again, I would love to hear some hobbies of your own and what you would skip a wedding for or plan your weddings around.

A) If you don't have one, your life sucks.

B) If you do have one, I bet its stupid

We did the Gatlinburg wedding, so there wasn't a whole lot:

Woke up
Went to Smokey Mtn. Knifeworks
Ate
Touristy stuff
Got married
Reception area had a TV w/ the UGA - TN game on (spent a bit of time going back and forth)
Get drunk
Knocked it out
Slept

I run, lift weights and play basketball. If someone is kind enough to invite me to a wedding (as in, they want me to be there), I will pass up on all 3 to do so.

It's common courtesy, dips hit.

ETA: oh, and I probably know more about the game of football than you

I would not skip any of my good friends or family members wedding for any hobby.

Some random cousin? Sure. My best friend or brother? Nope.

Is "watching football" a hobby?

Clearly, if you're in the wedding I totally agree. My family and good friends wouldn't schedule on a Saturday in the fall that mattered though. They're more cognizant of their surroundings and the culture around here though.

I do hope my conditions for having it on an away game day were acceptable to you.

Because, once again, deportation and all that shite.

I would have had much more trouble if it was scheduled for a home uk basketball game.

How long did it last?

I was in one of these, he filed divorced seven months in after listening to her complain for months about how he ruined her wedding by having beers with his boys after the reception in the hotel bar.

You sitting down for this? Shockingly, I stuck that shite out for 7 years. Mainly because we had a child. I finally came to the realization that I could still be a good father without being with his mother. Plus it would be better for him for me to be happy rather than growing up with a miserable old man. Once I came to accept that, I immediately bolted.

Oh here we go with the "I know more about football than you crap"

Listen, some people place football higher on the hierarchy than you then. Does that make them wrong or dumb? No. Some people put weddings (ones where they're regular guests and aren't an integral part of) lower on the totem pole.

Sorry you don't have something in your life going that you enjoy more than making an insignificant appearance at a wedding. That sucks bro. Bless your heart.

My FIL has a standing policy, he went to his own wedding, gave away his daughters at their weddings, and went to his sons first wedding. His sons second wedding was not in the deal nor was anyone else's. Surprisingly he is well liked like by the in-laws.
