Went to bed a 4 drunk and woke up at 7 drunk.

Go find one of my groomsmen that went hunting and fell asleep in a deer stand.

Get to church at 10 feeling like shite.

Get married to my wife that feels as shitty as I do. Entire wedding party is hungover as frick.

Go to reception and eat but drink nothing but water.

Puke up about $30 worth of shrimp and assorted other seafood.

Drive to our suite in Houston at the Hilton by Hobby airport.

We take long well deserved nap.

Wake up and frick in hot tub and drink a bottle of Dom.

Wake up and fly to Vegas.

We were hell bent on finishing that cake off(red velvet). We ate it for every meal until we left.

We took all the leftover cupcakes (about 50ish I would guess) to the bar the next afternoon, and passed them out to anyone and everyone. Didn't even bother bringing any home, it wouldn't have stayed good the whole trip anyway.

We'll just celebrate some other way... still have leftover bottles of the wedding barleywine!

Rebeloke keeping it alive! This thread has made my slow day at work so much better. I'm not married so I don't have a wonderful story to throw in.

Didnt get home till 3am night before. Get up at 6am to start cooking for our reception. We get married at high noon. Do the reception. Leave, drive to Diamonhead, cold as shite that day by the way. Go watch Saints next day, still cold, stop and get some starter logs, didn't read where as to not break starter log up, do break log up, damn near burn my mothers condo down.

Yep, fun thread to read while bored at work.

I was thinking about starting a spinoff thread but I'll ask here if anyone will answer...

Is it trashy for the bride and groom to go out with the close friends (say downtown) after the reception? I've seen both with weddings I've been to. Some the bride and groom come out after a little alone time (these were the more fun weddings IMO), and some they went off and went do whatever and honeymooned.

Asking because I am getting married next year and brought up going out after secks after the reception. Some people have given me weird looks after mentioning it, so I didn't know if it was trashy or not.

Our wedding was out of town for everyone (including us). So basically everyone is in vacation mode. Many of our guests we haven't seen in years so we went out with our friends afterwards to be able to spend more time with them. I'm glad we did. We had a blast with our friends. And then still back to our condo and had a proper wedding night.

rented a limousine and got married at drive-in window around 5:00pm
Went old strip in Vegas
Ate, drank, gambled(a little), went to strip joint.
Went back to hotel in casino and crashed.

nope

last wedding I was in, after the wedding a bunch of us went out, and about 11 (mid afternoon wedding), the groom texted me wanting to know where we were and they met us out and we all had a great time

it was cool because we all don't get together that often and it was fun for them because it allowed them to really wind down after all the stress leading up to the wedding

Thanks, that's what I thought. It was mostly my fiancé's bitchy aunts that were giving me the looks when we were talking about it. In the end, we're going to do what we want to do, not what they think.

Well they are gonna be the ones that leave right after the reception anyways so why do they care?

Many times groups of friends go out after a wedding. Everyone is dressed up and everyone has been drinking and wants to keep hanging out. Don't see anything wrong with the bride and groom joining them.

Got to the hotel around 3am, up at 7am. Bloody marys and screwdrivers until around 10 by the pool. Power nap around 11 ish, lunch, more drinks, get dressed, off to the church. Married at 6, reception from 7 until midnight. Brought a keg back to the hotel pool. Stayed out drinking with everyone until around 2, back to the room to consummate our marriage.

Also not trashy to go out after a wedding.

the new bride just better be prepared for lots of "y'all smell like sex" jokes, especially if the guys are drunk

Now I did go to a wedding where everyone went out after the wedding. We all piled up in the limo....and went to a strip club.

Bride and groom got on stage and the strippers whipped both of them.

Now I'd say that was trashy

Yep, friends all went with us in my mind the best way to do it instead of spending thousands on a wedding.

$200 flight
$59 a night casino hotel
$40 marriage license
$100 Limo charge
$200 wedding charge

Nothing crazy. Got married. Went to reception. Called it a night relatively early. Got up and went to charleston for our honeymoon. We didn't stay married long unfortunately
