There is no such thing as what he described. It does not exist. The best example is this clip from "Trading Places" with Dan Akroyd and Eddie Murphy;

Back in the day when we had to walk uphill in three feet of snow (both ways) to get to a patrol base, this is what we used to get a little amped.

They did in 07 for sure. I hear the Omelet MREs are gone as well.
