All I know now is I cannot be as trusting. Just so dissapointing. Lesson learned, a d will start doing more to protect myself on lease agreements. Just miss the days where men acted like men. Now I have to go and buy new locks. I will never trust folks from Pascagoula named Derwin, again...

Who drew up the leasing agreement? No one else was involved? And no notary?

Count your blessings he is gone, small price to pay to get rid of him bc he will never come around you again.
And change the locks.
And change the locks.

I mean, unless you are going to hunt him down and beat his arse, chalk it up to a learning experience.

Bro, why are you letting everyone know my name is Derwin? You know how embarrassed I am about my name...
ETA: Thanks for letting me know that was the only copy of the lease

This is actually one of the better lawyer request stories.
If you have others who are a party to the same agreement and can testify or sign an affidavit supporting your version of the story, and if it's the same form copy for everybody, and if they know that he signed it. You have a chance.

Lie and say you leave your webcam on for security and it showed him taking some things off your desk...

It wasn't hard to find a Derwin from Pascagoula on facebook. Dude has a lot of stuff about God and ministry and being raise the right way on his page. If it's the right Derwin at least.
ETA: I just noticed your location says Oxford. This guy claims to have studied at Ole Miss. It's probably supposed to be the same person.

I wouldn't sweat the lease being stolen, but thieving money is grounds for an arse whippin'.
You and your flow could also shame the shite out of him on the social networks.

I say slit his tires in like 6 months... I don't think you're going to be able to make this right so at least cause him some pain.
The reason I'd wait is that so that he won't be sure it's you and you won't have to worry about retribution.

Maybe in 1984 or 1994 you could beat somebody up... Today, I don't think it's worth risking jail time and a criminal record. just go vandalize his shite in about six months

This is what happened most likely.

I would beat the piss out of him. Take his keys and go find my money and docs.
I know I would probably go to jail for a night, but frick a thief. If you find your stuff, the judge will give you a slap on the wrist.
