Not a single person questioned if this was racist. A couple of posters were just wondering which law was broken. As was I.

Statue of a now deceased white state politician in my home town. When we were kids, we'd go over there, put black polish on his shoes, put a beer bottle in his hands, and yes, hang a noose around his neck. Hate crime? No. Desecration of a grave? Actually yes, because he was buried there. But nothing ever came of it. Cops knew we did it and told our parents. Probably 100 kids over a generation did the same thing to this same statue and never a thought of a hate crime. Now that our world is so politically correct with the white male being the minority yet no crimes against a white male in the realm of 'hate'.

I never said it wasn't racist or that he isn't a terrible person... but he shouldn't spend time in jail for a misdemeanor. That would be a waste of resources.

How about a deliberate attempt to intimidate and frighten a particular race of students on a federal university. There has to be a law against doing that

One of us was a student when this happened and one of us wasn't.
The University and its students spent so much time and effort improving race relations on campus and improving our public image. Because any time Ole Miss is brought up in the media, race usually has something to do with it.
And this a-hole took a huge dump on all of their work.
