Not that I agree with Food Stamps for Felons, but I think the whole program is financed with federal dollars and not State General Funds. That's not to say that the Food Stamp Program needs to be reigned in because it does.

I'm assuming all you TOPS advocates were big supporters of Bernie's free college idea and didn't ridicule it or use it as a means to call him a communist.

Right?

Its actually not that hard to just find work, but that's going to be shoveling shite, cleaning toilets, laying bricks, roofing, etc.

The problem is most of them went to prison because they didn't want to do real work in the first place to earn a living.

The release a report every year with said evidence. It's been pretty impressive relative to its goals. If we had someone with vision to leverage it, we could probably move the state significantly forward.

I know that when you got out of Shawshank, they had a job bagging groceries waiting for you.

You do realize you could become a felon tomorrow by not pulling over fast enough when a cop on a bad day is lighting you up for a blinker being out that you were unaware of.

Judge not

I wouldnt agree with a law that bans food stamps for drug felons. Really? Most drug felons shouldnt have spent a day in jail.

I didn't support Bernie's vision because he wanted to do it on the federal level, which I see as beyond Congress's enumerated powers as vested in Congress by Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution. If states wish to pay for free college for their citizens, I have no qualms with that as long as it is done in a responsible, reasonably efficient manner.

TOPS is not a needs based program. Not a good comparison

What about 75% that are not included in your stereotype?

Unlike TOPS.

Time to trim the fat and cut programs we can't afford

Yeah, but with a felony, it is 50x more difficult to get a job when you get out. This is why most drug felonies should be abolished. It hurts the communities the most.

Violent crimes are what we should be focusing on.
