i'll let you know after august. we're spending a week in the keys then. we'll park the travel trailer at long key state park and travel to the various keys from there daily, including a float plane trip from kw to the dry tortugas. we've been to key west once for a day trip and really enjoyed it. we rented a scooter and went around the island. i'd like to have the time to explore and see houses and yards. this time, we won't miss the butterfly house, or sunset at mallory square.

then there's the garden of eden, a clothing optional roof top bar on duval, so you can check out your wife's friends naked, because they'll surely do it.

Depending on the island a lot of the Caribbean is just like the US.

Oh, and USVI. Islands that are actually part of the United States. Go to St. John and treat your wife well. Then get a freaking passport and day trip to the BVI while you're there.

My parents went to Sanibel Island last year. They loved it. Great food and beautiful beaches. The fished one day ans caught a few reds but no snook.

Key West only if your wife is a man. The rest of the keys are nice, Duck Key is one of my favorites

We went to the keys last year and it was nice...but for me, we could have had the same experience 8 hours closer.

I've also got a 10 year coming up next year and I'm considering an east coast trip. Day or two each in Myrtle Beach, Charleston, and Savannah. I'm scared of getting bored in one place for 7 days.

There's WAY to many foreigners too suit my tastes. Almost as bad as Festval International in Laffy.

No, thank you.

Dominican is better bang for your buck, and it's not like you are backpacking around Europe. It's not like you have to think on your feet as a traveler. They pick you up at the airport and you go to a resort.

We were at KW this weekend for our 10th. You'll probably have a better time with a few couples than we did. Not that we didn't have fun but there were a few bars that we wished friends were with us. Currently on a cruise that left out of Miami on Monday and just left Freeport headed to Norwegian's private island. Having a great time,,,met some 21 yr olds that got the wife too drunk today. I won't even be able to capatilize.

Do it right and rent a house in the Abacos right on the beach. It's close, private, with plenty to do for the men (great fishing) and women.

This is correct

Not much to do in the keys if your not out on the water. Just lots of bars and very mediocre restaurants.

I drive the keys a lot for work, I think the upper keys has nicer water, but there is a lot less to do outside of KW.

Depending on the trip my wife and I like BVI, but the kids like Bahamas.

Dude: not reading all the posts but I bet the guys here will tell you do what ur wife wants. And they would be right.

Also, what's up with not leaving states?

Also, fyi: keys are all good for a little getaway. And key west could be a good 10th yr trip.

But compared to Caribbean? No. Don't frick up.

BTW, I wouldn't recommend driving from Miami to KW on Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. Traffic was ata stand still most of the time. It took over 4.5hrs going down and 3.5hrs coming back.
