Thanks to anyone who comments. Wall of text, and yes I'll continue putting the fork down until im not a fatty.

I recently started running and dieting. Been at it for about two weeks and around 15 pounds down. Dropped sugar drinks and watching carbs.

Anyways, I have to be at a mile and a half in fifteen minute, pace within a few weeks. I had been doing 1 minute run, 1 walk, and 2 minute run 1 walk.. But that's out the window, don't have time to build that. What do the OT Fitness experts suggest ? Should I two a day run pushing myself to go longer and longer straight runs? Or once a day push for longer runs and the second workout be leg strengthening such as squat, leg press, lunges, etc.?

Too long ; didn't read lol lol : two a day runs for as long as I can, or once a day and then muscle building for The second daily workout?

gotta keep getting those feet one in front of the other as fast as you can.

It took a while for me to learn too. For years, I was the laughing stock in local Red Rover tournaments.

if you can't run a a mile and half in 15 mins you should not be running twice a day.

Do intervals, and work on increasing your distance as you go.

Not if your body isn't used to it, which it sounds like it isn't. You run the risk of injuring yourself.

This is an odd goal. Why?

Doing cross training like this will be useful. Typically, I would say run 5 days a week, and cross train for 1 day, and rest 1 day.

This is certainly going to help.

So you are losing slightly over one pound per day?

These things(distance running and muscle building) are working against each other. The best way to program your routine is to use blocks of time(weeks or months) where you have one specific goal and most of your time and energy during workouts is devoted to that goal.

Distance running is not going to make you lose weight. Its only going to make you better at running. The diet will make or break you.

If you are trying to lose weight, id suggest strength training with some HIIT mixed in(along with a low carb, high fat and protein diet).

possible - if you started out at 500 pounds...or you were really constipated, then exploded, and didn't drink enough water.

What is this for?

How far can you currently run without stopping? I am assuming less than a mile and a half right? Sounds like you just need to work on your endurance which should come pretty quickly. Once you are able to run a mile and a half non stop you will definitely be doing it at a 15 minute pace or less.

Running two weeks, started the calories stuff a little less than a week before doing any excercise.

Losing 1lb per day doesn't sound healthy. Might have some effect on the running also

Why the rush? Definitely do not run twice a day if you are having endurance issues.

Here's a commonly used schedule that people follow (with good results) to go from not running, to running 3 miles in 30 minutes. Takes about 9 weeks though.

Probably is a little too high but then again I was eating like 3500 calories a day and like two large sodas.

Just weighed again and it's now 3 pounds higher, so it's fluctuating. This rise puts it at 11 or 12 pounds in three weeks

The worst thing you can do it try to run too far too fast. You'll more likely than not end up injured. If you build slowly and are consistent with training, you'll make big gains in endurance pretty quickly. Building pace should be a secondary concern, especially since it will naturally increase as you lose weight.

Lots of people lose a ton of water weight when they first start out.

if he weighed himself the first time right after eating a big dinner and the last time in the morning before he eats breakfast then that could be a couple of pounds difference just from sleeping, shitting, and pissing.
