Fat is the ultimate signifier of laziness. How many fatties do you see out there being highly successful? How many fatties are leading their fields in medicine, law, science, engineering, etc.? Barely any at all. If you don't have the basic drive to maintain your body at a healthy level, then you certainly won't have the drive to advance mentally and professionally.

The problem I have with the so called "fat activists" is that many seem to lump all forms of excess weight into the same category.

There is a huge difference from being 20 pounds over weight and being morbidly obese. The super obese "fat activists" act like their body type should be socially acceptable. There is no reason to let yourself get that heavy. It's not safe.

Hard to disagree.

I gained 4 lbs on vacation and I feel like a sloth.

I guarantee you, Chris Christie got that surgery in large part because of how he is perceived.

Or b/c Letterman wouldn't get off his arse.

Gabe Newell

But I agree, he's probably an exception

Someone needs to tell her, "Have you ever seen anyone in their 70s or 80s who are as big as you? No? You want to know why ... because they're dead."

Guarantee you the majority of those guys are more muscle than fat.

And a lot of them have bad weight problems after they retire because they can't adjust to a sedentary lifestyle.

I wouldn't say that. It's really fricking difficult to put on muscle and weight for some people. I would say that its much harder for people like you to add weight than it is for most fat people to lose any kind of weight.

It may be more difficult, but I get to eat all the time (albeit healthy food), and I would rather be skinny than fat any day of the week.

Edit: Actually, it gets pretty freaking cold up here, so there are probably some days where I wouldn't mind the extra insulation.

I can understand it happening, people lose control and shite gets our of hand but don't try to say it's healthy and ok and actually something to celebrate.

I'd hate to be the owner of the Golden Corral by the TV studio.
