Fastest way out of Baton Rouge heading to New Orleans

Starting from highland and Lee.
I've heard taking Nicholson to Gonzales before getting on 10 is faster that dealing with College/Perkins congestion and the I-10 traffic that generally lingers all the way to Seigan.
I've also heard of just taking Highland all the way South to 10.
Any OT'ers have an opinion or suggestions ?

Google Maps
It takes traffic into consideration when you use it on your phone

Burbank to Highland onto I-10?

Waze on your phone will always get you the fastest route, and updates better than google.
That said. From Highland and Lee, taking Nicholoson to Gonzales is an option.
I've done that before, there is always traffic on Highland, and that may not save you time.
Though sometimes sitting in traffic is faster still than backroads.

I used to drive this route once or twice a week (sometimes 4x a week) for 8+ years. I was coming from Highland and LSU Ave, so not that much different from you.
You could take Nicholson all the way to I-10 or Burbank to Highland, to I-10. I would not do Highland all the way. The difference between Burbank/Highland vs. Nicholson is 1-2 minutes. The only thing that matters is do you want to have a prettier drive or drive through nothingness (Nicholson). Oh, and the pain of turning left off of College onto Nicholson.

There's usually traffic on I10 around the Dutchtown exit so I take Hwy 30 to Gonzalez.

Such a terrible way to get out of BR. Nobody should ever, ever, EVER take the secret route, er, hazardous route out of town. Too many tanker trucks to slow you down. And plant traffic. And clouds. Many clouds and unicorns getting in your way.

i've never timed it, but not really.
The end around takes about as much time as sitting in traffic. I would definitely just go over to Acadian though and get on the intestate there.

I'll see your rotor and raise you a Jetpack.
I thought of you today (nohomo). I was at the always awkward Rich/Poor wedding and the groom's side were the Poors. Including the groom I counted 7 New Iberia Haircuts.
The reception is tonight, it will be interesting, I'll wager that men's shirts will be removed.
I sat on the Left side of the Church in case there was any confusion.
