Can't blame fast food for that. Over consumption is why Americans are fat.
This.

Well, apparently he's assuming that eating a chicken breast grilled is better for you than eating a McRib. Have you seen what they do to chickens to make those breasts so plump?
Are you seriously trying to make this argument?

not by being strategic. You are accidently hitting your macro's and burning the right amount of calories whether you realize it put any effort into counting or not
i choose to focus on working out harder than counting foods; that sounds strategic to me

You cant get to 215 and about 12% bodyfat (what you look like in that pic

although I buy most of my meat from a local farmer, but that is because I like supporting local people, moreso than I'm afraid of "hormones" or whatever
Everything here is grass fed and local.
They passed the law against hormones in meat a while ago.
When i lived in germany id see the truck bringing the local meat to the super market.
Its funny not seeing my chicken triple in size when cooked

Obviously, it's a stretch, but I was trying to make a greater point.

The use of growth hormones in poultry has been illegal in the United States for over 50 years.

quote:That's just it. No one knows what's in supplements. Sure, there's a label, but there's no regulation or oversight re: what that label states. As we've seen in the past year, many, many supplements are mislabeled and often don't even contain the nutrients they're supposed to.
I imagine the grams of sodium and cholesterol are much higher in fast food than in lots of supplements.

That's what I was looking for, thank you. Would my pancreas still do that knowing that it's just a small bite size?
FWIW, I don't think you would have any real issues eating the candy beforehand, but there's really no need to do that if you don't like sweets. Grab an apple instead. Tons of simple sugars in that.

If you eat something sweet like that super early in the morning (within 45 mins of waking up) your pancreas will get really fricking excited and give you an overload of insulin to compensate for all that sugar you just took in. Then once you level off, you will crash big time. I would eat that after a workout if in the morning.
Yeah...I'm not going to take advice from someone who thinks whey protein is synthetic protein.

Doc says 10% . he was just reading the electric tub and skin fold results though

It really is hard to tell without having a more accurate way to measure. I would've thought 12% also.

Yeah I hear ya. Usually beforehand I just drink a cup of coffee to wake me up then have a protein shake after. Just figured if I was gonna splurge and have some sweets I might as well do it when it would be the most advantageous.

quote:I was using the term loosely. I get that it's a byproduct and natural so synthetic wasnt the proper term. My point, taken out of context, was directed toward the attitude that most people think they absolutely have to go to Smoothies & More and get a Chocolate Chip Cookie Blast Whey Protein 7000 shake with twelve scoops of peanut butter or "theyll lose their gains brah" when they're really taking in a shite ton of sugar and hidden carbs. Just eat a frickin steak or scramble a half dozen eggs.

I'd rather take the protein shake to save on groceries.
