Unless my cars get stolen or wrecked…I shouldn’t need to replace them until 2030.

I will buy for under 25k with TT&L and a 10 year unlimited mileage warranty on the battery.

So they went up 40%, then cut prices 7%. Screw that

Bought a Tahoe in March and paid sticker. Dealers would not budge and said they’re still moving too much inventory to negotiate. This is for trucks only, other fleet models were below MSRP.

I'll consider another f150 when a loaded xlt is $37.5K again like 2016

I have a 2017 (not loaded) and it was 32-33k. They're basically 50% more expensive now. I'd drive a 1999 Civic before I paid 53k for an XLT

This is me. Mine is 7 years old, and I'll drive it another 7 at this point.

My car is 4 years old and I really want a truck, but I won't be getting one until I can pay cash. These vehicles cost too much alone, let alone adding finance charges on top of that.

My current inventory:

1998.5 Dodge Ram 2500 5.9L Cummins Diesel (mine)
2011 Lexus RX 350 (son)
2012 Infiniti G37 (daughter no pics)
2019 Odyssey (wifey no pics)

I plan to keep my local mechanic busy on these for many years to come.

They're going to have to do a whole hell of a lot more than 7.5%.

I started to say, 7.5% isn't slahing prices.

I was really interested when they first announced because they were also very inexpensive. But, they've had one problem after another and gone up way too high. Sounds like a problem I wouldn't want to own for even free right now.

Yeah, I bought my 2014 F150 crew cab 4x4 for just under $35k and they installed leather seats.

Ecoboost, off road package, and HID headlights. Same truck now is at least $20k more.

frick that, I’ll drive this truck until it falls apart.

The only way to offer low interest rates is to buy down the interest which just gets rolled into the price. The only way to do what you're proposing is if the fed tanks interest rates again.

Yes but Ford can take a hit on their profit margin and still move vehicles if they wanted to.

I adamantly believe trucks are overpriced, but to expect prices to be the same as 8-9 years ago is a bit disingenuous. You have to at least reasonably expect prices to increase at the rate of normal inflation, not in the least considering the cost of Biden inflation.

It's not just trucks that are expensive. Sedans are up 50% too.

Mechanics aren't cheap either. But they are cheaper than a new car. The best thing you could have done is bought in 2020, but you can't go back in time.
